How to Choose a Bespoke Staff Uniform

How to Choose a Bespoke Staff Uniform

Choosing a bespoke staff uniform for your employees can be tricky but it really is a great way to help promote your business. Below are a few tips to help you decide what staff uniform is right for your business.

1. Employee input

First and foremost, it is always key to get your staff involved in the decision making process.  Make it known that you are planning on purchasing a new bespoke staff uniform and ask if anyone has any ideas on how existing uniform could be improved or if there are problems that could be rectified. It is unlikely that you will please everyone or match each team member’s personal tastes but at the very least the end result will be a staff uniform that will work well and the majority of the team are happy with.

2. Fabric

Uniforms can come in a variety of fabrics. Are your staff working outside in hot and cold conditions or are they inside with air conditioning? This information will help you determine if they need cotton, polyester or nylon. Cotton is an excellent choice as a breathable material for those working in hot conditions. Alternatively, polyester or nylon shirts are dressier and are more suitable for air conditioned environments.

3. Colour

We recommend choosing a colour that fits well with your brand image. If your website, store or banners are red and white, then your staff uniforms should follow suit. This makes your brand image clear and put together.

4. The Logo

Bespoke staff uniforms tend to have their company logo on them so your staff instantly stands out to your customers. Do you want the logo to be screen printed or embroidered? Embroidery is best for small to medium sized logos on the front of a shirt. If you prefer a larger design, screen printing may be the better option for your staff uniforms.  If you are unsure, we can always help you make a decision based on your needs and budget.

5. Quality

If you don’t want to have to replace staff uniforms frequently, we highly recommend a practical design with high quality stitching.  For example, if you purchase double stitching instead of single stitching for your uniforms, you will notice the quality will be better and they will last a lot longer.

6. Quantity

Always order extra pieces so you don’t have a shortage of staff uniforms. When employees leave or join your company, you need to consider the different size requirements.  You will also be saving money as the more you buy, the bigger discount you will get.
